Jeroen van der Weerd is a “supermarket geographer” and has been advising on supermarket operations and supermarket real estate for many years. Supermarket formulas, franchisees and real estate parties rely on his knowledge of site location studies (VPO), distribution planning studies (DPO) and revenue optimization for supermarkets. In addition, Jeroen is founder of the platform Supermarket & Space.

Ellen Tak also has more than 15 years of experience, but on the investment property side. After 5 years at Corio (now Klépierre), she spent 10 years at Altera, where she was responsible for investment strategy. For example, she successfully led the strategic change in direction to focus entirely on convenience (supermarkets and neighborhood shopping centers) from a mixed-use portfolio. Result: short- and long-term outperformance and almost 100% convenience in Altera’s portfolio.

Through our partnership, we merge these areas of expertise: the specialist market knowledge and data-driven approach of Jeroen and the strategic investment expertise of Ellen. Bureau van der Weerd is thus expanding its current services to include independent and keen advice for real estate investors.
